Eventful Experience

D-Day
D-day happened on 6 of June 1944. It was on the coast of Normandy. The Allies were trying to make the Germans leave France. 130000 solders came by ship and 23000 came by gliders. They were trying to end the war.

Crete
Crete started on May 1941 it went for twelve days. There are troops from New Zealand, Britain, Australia and Greece. 7700 New Zealand troops tried to stop the Germans from taking over Crete.

    You have done a great job with summarizing these very important events from the War! How did you find reading about the war and the events that happened?
    I can't believe that so many things happened during that time, I think that those who were there would have had some very scary but interesting stories to tell!
    If you could meet someone who went to the War what questions or stories might you want to hear?

    I think I would like to know what it was like the first day that they arrived over seas and the day that they were sent home!
