Charles Upham

Charles Upham is the only New Zealand solider to earn two VC's. He was born in Christchurch in 1908. He got one for gallantry and leadership in the the battle of Crete on May 1941. He was given his medal at Buckingham Palace. He was a sergeant in the army.  After the war he went back to being a farmer.

  1. Hi Eden!

Charles Upham sounds like an awesome dude! How insane is it that he was award two VC awards! He must have some very interesting stories from the war. I wonder what he received his second VC for?

That's really cool that he has also been to Buckingham Palace for his award! That's such a privilege....I wonder if it was awarded by the Queen...?

This was a great post Eden, I feel like I have learnt a lot from you about Charles Upham!
